Where can I get shoes for wide feet?

Are there any brands out there that make wide shoes? Converse is too narrow. How about Vans, Simple, or Tom’s Shoes? Or any other brands.
Can wide shoes be made to fit narrow feet?
I just bought some beautiful, expensive shoes but they are too wide and slip off my feet. I put in slip-ins and heel grips but they don’t help. Can a shoe repair place help do something to make them fit narrow feet? I will be very mad if I can’t wear them! I can’t return them because I bought them in a different country. I would appreciate any advice….
