Wide Width Women Shoes

I’m a long-time Merrells fan, and the Barrados have become my default everyday shoes, perfect with jeans and business casual wear.

I currently own six pair of the Merrell Barrados, because I’m a big believer in the adage, “if the shoe fits, buy it in every color!” The Barrados are lightweight, flexible shoes available in a wide array colors and materials…I own three pairs in suede (black, brown, and green – the green is advertised as “sage” but is actually closer to “lime”. Fortunately, I’ve never met a color I didn’t like), the purple/orange pair in leather, a silver mesh pair, and an off-white canvas pair. After about six months of near-constant wear, all six pairs are still in fantastic condition. One suede pair even survived being soaked in rain on and off for a week without any stains or other visible damage.

The most common complaint about these shoes is that they aren’t very supportive. This is true…they’re perfect for running to the grocery store or wearing to work if you’re going to be at a desk all day. If you’re usually a pedestrian (I don’t own a car and walk almost everywhere), I would recommend investing in a set of orthodic insoles. I use the Powerstep insoles, which are also available on Amazon, and that makes all the difference in the world if you’re going to be on your feet all day.

If you’re looking for a durable, comfortable, attractive pair of shoes that you can wear to work, yoga class, Starbucks, or anywhere else your day might take you, I’d recommend the Barrados over most comparable shoes, including most pairs of Keens or even Birkenstocks.

I’m about to order my 7th pair of Merrell Barrado’s,

so far I have owned 3 white pairs, 1 black and 2 white/green/black.

Obviously they are not machine washable but I tried anyway because the white ones were so dirty, they shrunk and I couldn’t wear them anyway.

Also the material used under the mesh in the white shoes does not stretch or breathe and my poor feet would swell if I walked alot or sat on the plane with them, I’d have to unzip my shoes and unfortunately I couldn’t zip up again!!

Very cute with jeans until the blue dye rubbed off on them despite many washings, of the jeans that is! Sadly, I would not buy the white again

even though they worked so well with my wardrobe.

The black and multi colored ones are super, I can’t see the dirt

and they stretch and breathe very well, they are the only “non-sandals” I own except for my one pair of New Balance very athetic and bulky shoes.

As I live in Florida and wear sandals much of the time, I don’t own

many closed toe shoes. Merrell’s are the shoe I wear to the mall,

grocery store or with my yoga pants when I’m walking around alot or doing chores at home.

They look good, very cute and sporty with capris, jeans or workout clothes and are multi climate shoes.

Today I’m ordering a suede pair for first time in the sage color because its a neutral color and I want the extra warmth because I’m going to the N.W.

I have tried hard to find something different thinking I’d get bored with the same old shoes, but I haven’t found anything yet.

These shoes are low profile and sporty and they fit well so I hope Merrell keeps coming out with new colors.

If anyone knows of a white pair they really love, I’d like to hear about them.
